Jamie Bewley Byrd is a fifth-generation Barren County native. She graduated from Barren County High School in 1999 with academic honors. She received full-ride scholarships to the Dual Engineering Program of Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky. In 2004, she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and minor in Math and Physics from the University of Kentucky.
A licensed professional engineer since 2009, Byrd previously worked for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in the State Highway Engineer’s Office. While working there, Jamie diligently served for state administrations on both sides of the political aisle and was successful at doing so professionally, effectively, and efficiently. She managed the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Scholarship Program, was the Engineer Career Path Coordinator, was a Kentucky Transportation Research Center Program Coordinator, and was a Transportation Research Board Kentucky State Representative.
Jamie proudly began serving as Barren County Judge/Executive in 2023, working tirelessly to support progress through her office and other community organizations.
