Charles Allen | Director of Engineering, Lincoln Trail Area Development District
Charlie worked 25 years with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in the Elizabethtown Office serving in various roles including Planning, Materials, Construction, Permits and Maintenance. He developed a love for highways especially the quality of materials used on roadway projects. Charlie was hired to serve as the Hardin County Engineer working on many local projects including small bridges, safety improvements and pavement management. It was there that he began researching potential tools to assist local government officials with asset management.
In 2024, Charlie was hired to develop a new Engineering Department for the Lincoln Trail Area Development District where he focuses on providing engineering services such as writing grants for bridge funding, land planning and development, highway safety, project management and pavement analysis.
Charlie lives in Green County and has been married to Kim for nearly 30 years, has one son, a daughter and son-in-law and a new grandbaby.
