Biography

Chris Cockrell is serving his third term as Montgomery County Clerk, leading with transparency, efficiency, and dedication to public service. Since taking office, he’s modernized operations, expanded access to records, and streamlined services. Before public service, Chris spent 25 years in his family’s four-generation recycling business, gaining expertise in logistics, compliance and customer service. A Morehead State University graduate in business administration, he values lifelong learning through leadership programs like the Global Leadership Summit. He has served as president of the Kentucky County Clerks Association, Chamber of Commerce, and Kiwanis Club, championing economic growth, youth programs and election integrity. Guided by his Christian faith, Chris leads with humility and collaboration. He and his wife, Heather, have three sons.

Candidate's Statement
I want to serve on the KACo Executive Board to help all Kentucky counties—large and small—grow and succeed. As county clerk, I work closely with every county agency, giving me a unique understanding of the needs, challenges and shared language that connect us. My experience leading at the local and state level has shown me the power of collaboration and innovative problem-solving. I’m committed to strengthening partnerships, promoting efficiency and ensuring every county has the tools to thrive. Together, we can build stronger communities and a more unified Kentucky.
