Sen. Robert Stivers
Robert Stivers has served in the Kentucky General Assembly since 1997. He represents the 25th Senatorial District, which encompasses Clay, Knox, Lee, Owsley, Whitley, Wolfe counties.
Senator Stivers was elected by his colleagues to serve as Senate Majority Floor Leader in 2008. He served as Majority Floor Leader until being elected as Senate President in 2012 – a position he still holds. As the Senate President, Senator Stivers represents the entire body of the Kentucky State Senate in any official state business.
In 2015, President Stivers was honored by Governing Magazine as a Public Official of the Year for his work in the General Assembly. He served as the Chair of the Southern Legislative Conference in 2016 and as Chair of the Council of State Governments in 2018.
President Stivers graduated from the University of Kentucky, with a degree in industrial management and minor in economics, and earned his law degree from the University of Louisville. Married to Regina Crawford Stivers, he is a practicing attorney in Manchester, Ky. The father of four children: Joshua, Caroline, Margaret, Robert, and now a proud grandfather to a growing number of cherished grandchildren.
