Doug is a Deputy Assistant to the President and the Director of White House Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA). In this role, he serves as the Trump Administration’s liaison to the nation’s governors, lieutenant governors, attorneys general, and other statewide, local and tribal leaders. Doug aims to effectively solve intergovernmental issues and shared challenges by building relationships at each level of the government. He was previously the Deputy Director of IGA and also served the Director of the Iowa Office of State-Federal Relations where he represented State of Iowa leaders before the Federal Government and built coalitions with other states and key stakeholders. Doug chaired the National Governors Association 2016 Summer Meeting Committee, which was hosted in Des Moines, Iowa. Doug previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and held several positions within the George W. Bush Administration – at the White House and at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
