David Helmers

David Helmers is a co-producer of Railbird Music Festival and a Partner and Founder of Black Mountain Management, LLC.

Mr. Helmers holds a law degree ('97) from the University of Kentucky College of Law and an undergraduate degree ('91, BA Psychology) from Rollins College. He has lived in Lexington for over 25 years where he provides business consultation services and has partnered in numerous ventures.

In 2019, David created Railbird Music Festival in partnership with Live Nation. Railbird is a music festival that celebrates all things Central Kentucky – including bourbon, equine culture, and local cuisine. The two-day music festival hosted over thirty artists on three stages in 2021. Over 32,500 fans attended each day coming from all 50 states. 2021 headliners included Dave Mathews Band, Leon Bridges, My Morning Jacket, and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.

David is married to Anne Billingsley Helmers and they have raised two children Laney (23) and Lee (19) in Lexington.
